I saw and heard a real Go-away bird when I was on a safari in South Africa, and immediately knew I had to write this story. Catherine Rayner has brought all the birds to life brilliantly. Here is a picture of us, along with my sister Mary, preparing to present the story at the Edinburgh Book festival. The lovely puppets were made for us by Little Angel Theatre.
