But who is the Giant Jumperee hiding in Rabbit’s burrow?

He’s as scary as can be.
He can squash you like a flea
He can sting you like a bee,
And he's taller than a tree!
“The prose is succinct, suspenseful and perfectly constructed . . . Can there be any young child who would not enjoy this?” Nicolette Jones, The Sunday Times Children’s Book of the Week

I wrote a play version of this story a long time ago, but then decided it would work really well as a picture book. I was delighted when the wonderful Helen Oxenbury, whom I’d always admired, agreed to illustrate it. You can watch Helen and me and hear the Giant Jumperee song in this broadcast.
